Who We Are

A Student-Run Theater Company

MyVision Theater Ensemble is an after-school theater company based at The Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA).

Although MyVision produces theater, the ensemble urges all members to embrace the arts in every form, and members represent every arts major offered at CAPA.

Members of MyVision take on every artistic role in our productions, including writer, director, actor, and designer,  well among others. The Ensemble creates and presents original, provocative productions.  MyVision makes an effort to touch on a wide variety

of sensitive subjects including, but not limited to, domestic violence, gender identity, and abortion.  MyVision Theater Ensemble was founded and is run by the visionary artists of tomorrow.

What is MyVision?

Our Mission

MyVision Theater Ensemble believes in art completely, and even more so, the Ensemble believes that theater holds a power to be appreciated more than it often is.  Today, theater is often passed off as simple entertainment without much thought given to it as a deeper art.  Theater possesses the ability to create a new world, provide an escape from reality, and create individual meaning for everyone in the audience, and MyVision pledges to embrace that power and spread its meaning.  The ensemble provides an outlet for young artists to cultivate their art with passion and persistence.

Our Goal

The goal of MyVision is to reach out to youth and to cultivate the arts.

As student-artists, the ensemble encourages and inspires the youth of Philadelphia to speak out on the topics that demand attention in present times, the issues affecting today’s youth, and the ideals that will shape the world we live in tomorrow.  The ensemble delivers its message to Philadelphia through what we know best – our art.

MyVision Theater Ensemble members collaborate to present three performances per year at CAPA High School. Along with these performances, members train in different types of theater to understand the new directions where theater is going, and present planned, devised, and improvised pieces in a variety of performance spaces.
